"유지하다" 동사

 

(1) remain / stay

• <vi. > Are you going to [stay/remain]? (있는 곳에서 벗어나지 않다)
• <2형식: P+N> It's not easy to stay in shape. ㅡ 안하는 상태로 유지
• <2형식: adj.> Stay tuned for the new episode of Friends.
• <2형식: N  > I don't think you should stay a student.
• <2형식: particle> Stay out of trouble.

 

(2) keep

• <2형식: P+N> Let's keep in touch. ㅡ ~함으로써 유지
•                     Keep an eye on him.
• <2형식: adj.> It's hard to keep calm in this kind of situation.
• <2형식: particle> Keep away! (떨어져!)
• <3형식> keep a secret(지키다) / keep the money(가지다) / keep the old computer (오래된 ~을 안버리다)
• <5형식: P+N> Why did you keep that from me?
                      Keep your son away from my daughter.
                      - keep A from B: A를 B가 못만지게 하다
                      - keep A away from B: A가 B 근처에 못오게 하다
• <5형식: adj.> Keep your fingers crossed.
• <5형식: N  > Why did you keep him a teacher?
• <5형식: particle> Keep your chin/head up. 
                         Keep your shirt on! ("잠깐만!")

(3) leave

• <vi. > He left. (떠나다)
• <3형식> He left his wife for another woman. (장소/사람을 영원히 떠나다)
• <5형식: P+N> I'll leave it to you. (의도적/깜빡하고 내버려두다)           
• <5형식: adj.> Leave me alone.
• <5형식: N  > Leave the papers on the desk.
• <5형식: particle> Leave me out of it.
